It is one of my favorite places to go in Brooklyn. In continuation to Red Hook painting, this Dumbo street at rainy night is all about the old NY nostalgia even though it is not going to stay this way, being developed at the current pace.

Balthazar is one of my favorite restaurant in the city. Of course it's not the place to go to sit down for a quiet meal in privacy. Very busy atmosphere, but it's fun. The food is just amazing.

It's my second painting of this New York city scene.

New York Meatpacking District is good place for inspiration with its rugged beauty: cobblestone streets and late 19th-century warehouses of red and brown brick. The neighbor used to be home of the butchers and artists attracted by cheap rent. Since early 90s the Meatpacking District began to change its face. Now it’s a home to high fashion couture, restaurants, trendy clubs, etc...

I just finished 11 new paintings in oil. It took much longer to complete than I anticipated, but it did turn out like I'd hoped it would. Janet T.
