"Out of Service"

12"x18" oil on linen.
.
Vacation is over, and it feels good to get back to unfinished work. Railroads and New York subway system remain to be a popular subject, so here is my latest painting – No.7 Subway line. .

Beautiful painting. Lovely soft light and restricted palette. We have a well known artist in Australia called Jeffrey Smart. ( he is at the end of his career now.) Your work reminds me of his: minimalist city scenes, without people. Just well observed spaces and shapes. Good luck with it.
