oil paintings by Janet Ternoff
Beauitiful painting, I love those blues.
The detailing in your paintings are so amazing! This one is wonderful.
I like this motif you have going in the last three posts Janet. These old weathered surfaces against the simplified bridges and skyscrapers in the backgrounds (interesting that two paintings are titled after the bridges). The well balanced mix of softened paint and edges played against the harder edges, the color palette...I especially like the lonely stoic little fire hydrant standing on the corner of each sidewalk (also an older one). You have managed to instill your own unique, New York flavor to what could have been a typical (like so many) 'quaint Paris sidewalk cafe' paintings, not so here.Like Stephen Magsigs docupainterly Detroit art I enjoy visiting New York via your art.
GREATTTT FANTASTIC PAINTINGS
Thanks David. You put in words exactly what I was trying to express in my painting and you are right about hydrant : -)it has some special place in my paintings.
Thank you all.
