Central Park Snack Stop
..........................................................sold
"Central Park - Snack Stop" 8x10 oil on hardboard.
I'm thinking about to add some action to my paintings and put people in the picture. I hope hard winter day was profitable for this street vendor from the busiest area of NYC. It's Plaza Hotel - Central park.

The New York Times

"The New York Times" 12x16 Oil on linen.
Two years ago I bought this beautiful vintage telephone - 1940 (pictured below) on eBay. It has been seating in my studio and collecting dust until couple of months ago when I started this interior painting. I have to say it was really fun to paint. I see a few more versions of this in the future. Available here...

"Meatpacking District No.3" 16"x24" oil on canvas.
I love to paint NYC Meatpacking District . This is my 3rd painting of this area.
The contrast of remaining industrial buildings, truck loading ramps and uneven cobblestone streets with trendy restaurants, bars, boutiques always an inspiration for a new painting.

2011

"DOWNTOWN" 14"x20" oil on canvas.
My first painting in 2011 that I had started at the end of a summer. My goal this year remains the same- continue to find beauty in everyday life and try to make the ordinary things become extraordinary.
Also I will create more paintings in the size of 8x10 this year. I’m planning to finish a few pieces in this size for auction on eBay in the beginning of February.

Happy New Year

sold
"Cat" 14"x14" oil on linen.
I haven’t posted anything on my blog for a while. I changed my job 3 months ago and this transition is seriously cutting into my painting time. I just hope that day comes when I can pursue my dream of being a full time artist instead of switching back and forth between the steady income and my passion for painting, but I’m not ready yet to take this step.
Finally, I’ve finished a few paintings that I had started at the end of a summer. Here is the first one and I’m planning to post the rest of them here next week.
Happy New Year, everyone, and thank you for following my work!

"Red Hook No.2"

"Red Hook No.2" - 12x18 - Oil on linen.
.
I painted and sold this painting a few years ago, but I would like to introduce this unique place before posting next group of my paintings with Red Hook Brooklyn NY. Located in the southwestern corner of the New York City borough of Brooklyn , Red Hook has been an industrial area for over 200 years, full of warehouses, old factories, terminals and landmarks. Lately, there's so much growth and change going on in here - IKEA, the upscale Fairway Market, art gallery, waterfront landmarks, cruise terminal attract many people during the day. When I come here, I like to sit with a cup of coffee at Fairway’s waterfront cafe breathing in the salt-water air enjoying the beautiful views of New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty (the only frontal view in NYC) and Manhattan skyline, and watching all the boat traffic with occasional cruise ships go past. Then I walk the cobblestone streets taking pictures of the Civil War-era warehouses. The place has a character and uniqueness and a big source of inspiration for a new painting.

Old signs have never been a subject for my paintings. But one day I was looking to buy a bottle of wine for a dinner and came across the liquor store on 7 Ave in Greenwich Village. When I came out from the store this sign caught my attention and I thought it could make an interesting painting.
